This allows you to get creative with how you barrel through these randomly generated levels.
As a gorilla, you can simply smash enemies into walls, into each other, and use as meatsheilds which will also make them shoot their respected firearm against their fellow man. The gameplay takes heavy inspiration from Hotline Miami with its top down POV and maze-like level designs. Honestly, the most relatable character in any video game. In this game you play as a very orange silverback gorilla trying to escape a lab of some sort killing and maiming any soldiers or random civilians along the way. It’s easy enough to put the game down and resume on another day. I only manage to do a little in each session, but that’s a plus. Some things just work by trying things out. Some solutions I can logically figure out. I like that it’s a peaceful non-addictive puzzle game.
Both are things which shouldn’t tax the devs too much, and would add to the experience a game of “what if I try”. I’d love to be able to unlock something like a developer commentary to learn about the behind the scenes of the game, and and art gallery where you can explore some of the intricate backgrounds of the game. However, I am disappointed there isn’t a bit more extra content. I myself went back to finish it three additional times, just because there’s something relaxing about moving the story tiles around and seeing everything comes together. This is a short game, but well worth your time. Sound design is minimal, but atmospheric and fitting. the main downside to this game is how short it is and how fast you can get all the achievements, but that’s understandable given the care put into the art and story. in my opinion it’s not a difficult puzzle game in any way, but its puzzles are interesting and unique and drive a captivating story. you get the hang of how it works pretty fast, but it makes you think a little bit eventually. About The GameĮven if you don’t like point-and-click games, gorogoa is beautiful to experience.
